Since 2021 the Department for Education has provided every school in England with a grant for training a senior mental health lead, you can find more information HERE  


This group coaching package is designed to complement and support you alongside the Department for Education senior mental health lead training, and with the practicalities of change management, strategy and leadership of mental health.


What will you get?


  • Bespoke feedback on your mental health strategic plan
  • Collaboration and ideas sharing with other senior mental health leads
  • No more than 8 schools per coaching session
  • Online sessions via Zoom, usually once a month
  • Four, 1 hourly sessions with focused 'hot topics'
  • Whatsapp group for asking questions and guidance in between each session

We understand that choosing the right mental health coaching package support  for your school can be a significant decision, and we want to ensure that you have all the information you need to make an informed choice.


We have created some frequently asked questions.  If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Q: What is this online group coaching package for?

    A: This 4 session, online coaching package is for Senior Mental Health Leads and designed to complement and support you alongside the Department for Education training. It will help you with the practicalities of change management, strategy and leadership of mental health. 

  • Q: How is online group coaching different from individual coaching?

    A: Online group coaching is different from individual coaching in that it involves working with a group of people who can collaborate and share ideas, resources and expereinces. This approach is proven to be more effective within the education space, helping senior leaders create connections and shared expereinces with others.

  • Q: I only want one session of coaching though, do you offer 1 session?

    A: We do offer 1:1 sessions, please email us directly and we can provide further information.


    This package is 4 sessions, typically monthly.

  • Q: What can I expect during an online group coaching session from Halcyon Education?

    A: During an online group coaching session, you can expect to receive feedback on your strategic plan, ask questions, gain advice and guidance and collaborate with others to problem solve.  The 4 sessions are 1 hour in length and typically run from 8-9am, helping you fit them around the school day and other commitments.

  • Q: What if I can't make one of the sessions?

    A: We know that sometimes you cannot make a session due to an OFSTED inspection or illness for example.  Please contact us to prior to the coaching session starting and you will be offered another session (which may be with another group)

  • Q: How often do the online group coaching sessions occur?

    A: The Senior mental health lead group coaching package is 4 sessions and costs £200 +VAT and typically occurs ever month for 4 months.

  • Q: What is the Whatsapp group for?

    A: The Whatsapp group is for each coaching group to ask questions or to recieve direct communication inthin the specific group of school mental health leads.

  • Q. What other support do I get over the 4 sessions?

    A: There will be a private WhatsApp group where you can ask questions and get support.


    You will also gain feedback and advice on your schools strategic plan.





  • Q: What do I need to do if I want to go ahead?

  • Q: Can I use my Department for Education Senior Mental Health Lead funding for the coaching programme?

    A: Yes you can, it is part of allowable spend once you have attended an approved senior mental health lead course.

  • Q: Can all our senior mental health leads from the same multi academy trust receive group coaching together?

    A: Please email anna@halcyon.education to arrange a specific group coaching package, tailored to your multi academy trust.
